Who we are

Sam Claypole is a full member of the Casting Directors’ Guild with over a decade of dedicated experience within the film and television industry. Her career journey is unique, beginning as a professional ballet dancer—a discipline that instilled a robust work ethic, resilience, and attention to detail that she carries into her casting work today.

Transitioning from the theatre world, Sam worked as an agent in London before establishing herself as a freelance Casting Director in the North of England, successfully casting Feature Films, Television, national TV commercials, and Corporate Training Films. Her diverse expertise spans genres from gritty psychological thrillers to comedy and children’s television.

Notable credits include casting the feature film The Infernal Machine, starring Guy Pearce (acquired worldwide by Paramount), and the award-winning and BAFTA nominated BBC comedy series Smoggie Queens (Series 1 & 2) for Hat Trick Productions. Her early feature film, In Our Name, received critical acclaim, including a Golden Zenith at the Montreal Film Festival and a BIFA for its lead, Joanne Froggatt.

Now firmly established in the Film and TV industry, Sam continues her passion for discovering authentic talent and bringing complex characters to life on screen. She operates with the mantra: 'Work hard and be nice to people.'
